Computational & Flow Science

The primary aim of our research activities is to push the envelope on the computation-enabled study and investogation of both fundamental process-level fluid mechanics as well as complex flow “systems” that integrate multiple physics disciplines. This will be accomplished through the development of advanced high-fidelity computational (HPC) infrastructure through careful design and coupling of scale/physics-dependent mathematical models, cutting-edge computational science research and development including large-scale parallelization and HPC techniques along with specialized analysis paradigms such as machine learning to handle large data-sets that enable scientific discovery.
